Activity Overview

Today, data is plentiful, but actionable use still requires some innovation. How can you engage patients and encourage them to share their experiences about their health? How can you turn these experiences into structured and actionable data? How can this data be used to determine if patients are responding to a particular treatment or experiencing issues related to tolerability or access?  How can patients impact the way clinical trials are designed and optimized? What is the role of wearable technology in the world of measuring the patient experience? If these types of questions resonate with you, be sure to attend this session for some actionable insight.

This session will discuss one patient-powered research network’s approach to developing the infrastructure, relationships and credibility to engage patients in reporting their experience and data. In addition, case studies will discuss various ways in which this data has been used by partnering with other stakeholders to improve patient health.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Discuss the challenges and opportunities of engaging patients in sharing their health experience and data.

2. Explain how patient-reported data can be collected and standardized for actionable use to advance patient care.

3. Discuss the real world impact and outcomes observed from the use of patient-reported data.
