Activity Description:

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a liver disease resulting from metabolic dysfunction that can lead to serious and costly health conditions, such as inflammation, hepatocellular injury, progressive fibrosis, and cirrhosis.  NASH is the fastest-growing reason for liver transplants in the United States, and it is projected to surpass alcoholic liver disease as the leading cause of liver transplantation.  This session will look at the clinical progression of NASH, the NASH pipeline, and formulary management strategies.

Learning Objectives:  

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Examine data on the clinical progression of NASH and the unmet needs of patients.
  2. Recognize current and new strategies for identifying patients with NASH fibrosis.
  3. Identify information on current and emerging therapies and treatment strategies for patients with NASH.
  4. Discuss potential formulary management best practices for NASH.
