Course Description:

Staying up-to-date with plaque psoriasis treatment has become a difficult but necessary task for managed care pharmacists. A variety of available therapeutic options brings both patient-care benefits and major expenditure for payers. Are traditional benefit strategies effective in managing trend in the use of biologics and biosimilars or do the challenges warrant contemporary approaches?

This session will focus on recently approved and pipeline products for the treatment of plaque psoriasis, benefit design challenges within this space, and strategies to effectively manage plaque psoriasis trend.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Review the evidence supporting novel plaque psoriasis therapies.
  2. Identify plaque psoriasis trend management challenges.
  3. Discuss a benefit design strategy to effectively control plaque psoriasis medication spend, while still ensuring appropriate patients are able to receive necessary medication.
