Novel Therapies for Plaque Psoriasis: Aligning the Patient Perspective with Disease Management

This activity is supported by an educational grant from Arcutis Biotherapeutics, Inc.

Course Description:

Plaque psoriasis disease severity ranges from mild cutaneous to extensive body surface area and multi-organ involvement, yet individuals with mild disease report a high disease burden and significant impact on physical and mental functioning. Advances in understanding the immune-mediated components of plaque psoriasis are driving targeted treatment approaches, adding to the complexity of formulary decisions and pharmacy benefit design. This session will focus on the impact of plaque psoriasis, defining the value of treatment options from the patient perspective, clinical evidence for novel therapies, and managed care considerations to optimize access to appropriate treatment.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Define plaque psoriasis disease burden and the value of treatment outcomes from the patient perspective.
  2. Review the evidence supporting novel plaque psoriasis therapies.
  3. Discuss managed care benefit design challenges and strategies to optimize access to appropriate treatment.
