Key Federal Court Cases and Their Impact on Healthcare – Where Advocacy Fits In

Program Description
Join Haider Andazola, Counsel at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP, for a one-hour Continuing Pharmacy Education session on the role of the federal judicial branch and health policy. This session includes an overview of the federal judicial system and how cases are elevated to the nation’s “court of last appeal.” Participants will also receive updates on ongoing health-related litigation, covering topics such as the Inflation Reduction Act, 340B drug discount program, coverage of vaccines, and restructuring of the federal workforce. Participants will also receive an outline of the avenues individuals or organizations may take to have their advocacy heard by federal courts.
Instructions for Claiming CPE Credit
- Go to amcplearn.org/code in your browser.
- You will see a page that says, “Confirmation Form.” Here you will enter your code.
- Enter the code that was displayed on the PowerPoint screen during the live session, then click “Unlock.”
- Then hover over the arrow next to “My Account” and click “Current Activities” to complete the evaluation.
- Click on the title of the session to begin the evaluation. Then click the “Take Course” button.
- Click on the “Evaluation” item and then click “Start Course” to complete the evaluation.
- Fill out the evaluation and click “Submit” at the bottom of the page.
- Once the Evaluation has been submitted, you will be able to click on the “Claim Credit” on the left side of the screen and then “Start.”
- You will see one credit option, ACPE. Check the box next to the credit type.
- ACPE Credit: If your AMCP Learn profile does not already include your DOB and ePID, you will be prompted to update your profile.
- When you have finished claiming credit, you can find your credit record and download certificates of completion by navigating to “My Account” and then “My Activities.” All credit will be sent directly to CPE Monitor within 48-72 hours. If you do not see it reported within 72 hours, please contact us at amcplearn@amcp.org.

- Review the structure of the judiciary and the administrative law principles that apply to healthcare law.
- Discuss recent seminal cases that affect healthcare law and key ongoing litigation with significant implications for healthcare.
- Identify opportunities to influence litigation and/or shape the outcome of litigation.

Successful Completion to Obtain Credit: Pharmacists must attend the session in its entirety, participate in session-specific learning assessments, obtain a session-specific attendance code, complete a session evaluation, and record their participation online at amcplearn.org no later than 11:59pm PT on Friday, May 23. No exceptions can be made after this date.
Integration with CPE Monitor: CPE credit pharmacists earn is transmitted electronically by AMCP to NABP. Pharmacists who log into CPE Monitor will be able to access information about CPE credit earned at AMCP Legislative Days 2024 approximately 72 hours after successful submission.
