Course Description
Join AMCP Government Affairs staff for a discussion on federal legislation and regulations relevant to managed care pharmacy. This session will focus on AMCP’s priority issues, including prescription digital therapeutics, value-based arrangements in Medicaid, access to biosimilars, and implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act, along with other federal policy actions under consideration by Congress and the Administration regarding pharmacy benefit managers, Medicare, Medicaid, and more.
Target Audience
Pharmacists who practice in managed care settings.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify important healthcare legislation and regulations and their major provisions.
- Describe at least two federal health legislative proposals introduced in 2024.
- Summarize the Biden administration’s regulatory actions that will impact the practices of managed care pharmacy professionals and teams.
