Course Description
The AMCP Foundation has developed the Emerging Trends Initiative to determine a process for identifying and assessing emerging trends that will impact managed care pharmacy within the next three-to-five years.
The Foundation has developed and deployed an IRB-approved survey instrument in consultation with a multidisciplinary Advisory Panel and Steering Committee. These stakeholders created five major domains related to emerging trends: information technology, therapeutics & diagnostics, payment models, pharmacy operations, and public policy.
Managed care pharmacy experts were permitted to participate in this survey. Participation was entirely voluntary, and responses were used solely in the aggregate to examine emerging trends and equip managed care pharmacists to prepare for these trends in the next 3-5 years. The results of the 2024 survey are being made available to all the AMCP Affiliates, as well as other external audiences, to enable strategic planning within one’s organization and across managed care pharmacy as a whole.
