Program Description
COPD exacerbations are a major driver of healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and cost of care, contributing to disease progression and poor patient outcomes. Increasing recognition of Type 2 inflammation as a distinct disease driver is enabling more targeted approaches to management.
This webinar will highlight the clinical and economic burden of COPD exacerbations and the role of blood eosinophil counts (BEC) in identifying patients with Type 2 inflammation. It will also present clinical data alongside new real-world evidence for mepolizumab (Nucala) in COPD, including findings related to exacerbations and HCRU.
Learning Objectives
- Assess the impact of COPD exacerbations on healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and cost of care.
- Evaluate blood eosinophil counts (BEC) to identify patients with Type 2 inflammation and guide treatment decisions.
- Review clinical trial data and the latest real-world evidence for mepolizumab (Nucala) in COPD, including observed associations with exacerbations and healthcare resource utilization.
