Alopecia Areata can occur in patients at any age and often has an unpredictable course. Up to 1 in 4 patients with alopecia areata are at risk of developing alopecia totalis or alopecia universalis. For patients with alopecia areata, there remains a need for more treatment options. Alopecia areata is a systemic autoimmune disease with an underlying immuno-inflammatory pathogenesis.
