Program Description
Treatment objectives are dynamic, changing with our growing comprehension of a disease and the emergence of potent therapies that enhance care standards. Advances in atopic dermatitis (AD) are elevating these care standards and allowing more patients to attain higher response levels, hence fine-tuning treatment objectives over time. The standard of care and refinement of treatment objectives continue to be enhanced by advancements in AD treatment. The benefits of achieving high treatment targets are now strong enough for medical guidelines to advocate for appropriate use of advanced therapies for AD. In budget constrained environments, payers need to understand how innovations are driving demand for novel mechanisms of action.
Learning Objectives
- Examine the evolution of goal-oriented therapy and how it informs treatment guidelines to enhance care standards in AD.
- Understand the benefits to payers and patients by achieving treatment targets for AD disease activity.
- Describe the clinical rationale for early use of advanced therapies in AD.
- List the ways in which payers can support treat-to-target strategies to improve patient outcomes.
