The Future of Metabolic Health in Managed Care: Population Risk and Financial Impact

Pricing: Free for Members and $30 for Non-Members

Course Description

This session prepares managed care pharmacists to address metabolic health through the lenses of population demographics, financial forecasting, and emerging payer strategies. As metabolic conditions affect a growing and increasingly diverse share of U.S. adults, plans face rising costs, earlier disease onset, and pressure to anticipate long-term budget and benefit design implications.

Attendees will explore how demographic trends, expanding use of therapies across obesity, diabetes, and MASH/MASLD, and technologies such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) are reshaping utilization and cost projections. Faculty will highlight new and evolving managed care approaches—including prevention-focused benefit design and integrated strategies—that support more proactive, sustainable metabolic health management.

Target Audience

Pharmacists who practice in managed care settings.
