Module 2: Basics of a Monograph

Module Description

A drug monograph is an essential, objective document that provides structured, evidence-based evaluations of new or existing medications. This module will explore the value of a drug monograph and its role in the P&T process. Additionally, this module will review each section of a drug monograph and the purpose of each component. 

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the value a drug monograph brings to the formulary decision-making process. 

  • Describe the main components of a drug monograph and the purpose of each section. 

  • Review how to use a drug monograph template to develop a comprehensive drug review and presentation for a P&T committee meeting.
