Module 4: Building a Monograph - Cost-Effectiveness Analysis

Module Description

Cost-effectiveness analyses (CEAs) and budget impact models are essential evidence-based tools for determining the value of a therapy. Participants will dive into examples of cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) and budget impact models.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Compare the various types of pharmacoeconomic studies that may be included in the monograph. 
  • Introduce the organization ICER, review results from an ICER long-term cost-effectiveness study and review the ICER Integrated Evidence Rating system. 
  • Review results from an example budget impact analysis. 
  • Discuss how P&T Committees review economic evidence within the monograph.
