Pricing: Free for Members and Non-Members
Course Description
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) remains a significant public health challenge in the United States, with approximately 1.2 million individuals living with HIV as of 2023. The landscape of HIV prevention has transformed with various PrEP formulations and extended-dosing regimens, offering a diverse array of options that enable clinicians to tailor prevention strategies to individual patient needs, preferences, and lifestyles for optimal adherence and efficacy. This session will explore how managed care organizations can play a transformative role in maximizing the prevention impact of HIV PrEP by ensuring equitable access and implementation of guidelines, so that all individuals, regardless of race or ethnicity, who may benefit from PrEP are appropriately identified and offered this highly effective prevention strategy. This session will provide an overview of newly emerging extended dosing HIV PrEP injectables, HIV policy updates to align public health initiatives, and PrEP adherence strategies for managed care organizations.
