Recorded on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 1-2pm PT
Pricing: Free for Members and Non-Members
Course Description
Precision medicine is rapidly transforming breast cancer care through advances in genomic profiling, molecular subtyping, targeted therapies, and companion diagnostics. This program will provide an overview of the evolving breast cancer landscape and examine how precision medicine approaches are improving treatment selection, outcomes, and quality of life for patients. Faculty will review emerging therapies and the growing body of real-world evidence that supports managed care decision-making, particularly for novel and accelerated-approval treatments. Through case-based discussions, participants will explore the practical application of precision oncology evidence and strategies for integrating these therapies into managed care practice. The session will also address regional access challenges, reimbursement considerations, and payer approaches to improving equitable access to precision medicine for patients with breast cancer.
Target Audience
Pharmacists who practice in managed care settings.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Review the impact of genomic profiling and molecular subtyping in breast cancer classification, treatment selection, and individualized therapeutic approaches to optimize patient outcomes.
Identify regional payer strategies to address gaps and delays in access to precision medicine for breast cancer patients, including policy and benefit design considerations.
Evaluate the role of real-world evidence (RWE) in informing managed care decisions for precision medicine therapies, particularly those granted accelerated approval.
Identify key emerging precision therapies in breast cancer, focusing on enhanced treatment efficacy, minimizing adverse effects, and improving the quality of life for breast cancer patients.
Commercial Support
This activity is supported by an independent medical education grant from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.
