Program Description

Rare diseases pose significant challenges for managed care, requiring innovative solutions and a deep understanding of patient needs. This webinar will spotlight two rare diseases – Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) and Beta Thalassemia – that exemplify the complexity of diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management. Through discussion of emerging therapies, patient journeys, and managed care strategies, attendees will gain practical insights for improving access, supporting adherence, and advancing equitable care for those affected by rare diseases.

Target Audience

This knowledge-based activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of pharmacists in managed care settings. 

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  1. Define the clinical, economic, and healthcare resource utilization burden of Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) and Beta Thalassemia.
  2. Summarize the current landscape and future trends of HAE and Beta Thalassemia therapies.
  3. Examine the patient's journey and perspective on HAE and Beta Thalassemia treatment value, share decision-making, and access to care.
  4. Discuss managed care considerations to incorporate the patient value and access to innovative therapies into managed care decision-making for improved health outcomes.
